📊 3. Matomo Dashboard Integration

A key convenience feature of JaJuMa Matomo Analytics extension is the ability to view your Matomo dashboard directly within the Magento admin panel.
This saves you time by eliminating the need to log into a separate system to view your core analytics.

To configure this, navigate to JaJuMa -> Matomo Analytics -> Configuration
and expand the Dashboard View section.

🔧 3.1 Configuration Fields

Dashboard Period

Select the default time period that the dashboard will display when you first open it. You can change this period at any time directly within the dashboard view itself. Options include Day, Week, Month, Year, and custom ranges.

Dashboard View Access Token

⚠️ Warning: Security Best Practice
For the Dashboard View Access Token, always generate a token from a Matomo user with 'view' permissions only. This ensures that the integration cannot be used to alter data or settings in Matomo, adhering to the security principle of least privilege. Never use a token with 'write' or 'admin' access here.

This token is required to authenticate and load the dashboard widget.
To create one,

• log into Matomo, go to Settings > Personal > Security,
• and generate a new token under Auth Tokens.
• Ensure the user you generate this token for only has view access to the desired Matomo site.

👀 3.2 Accessing the Dashboard

Once configured, you can access your embedded Matomo dashboard in two ways:

1. From the main menu: JaJuMa -> Matomo Analytics -> Matomo Dashboard
2. From the main dashboard: Dashboard -> Matomo -> Matomo Dashboard
