After installation, you can access the JaJuMa Video Widget's global settings to enable it and configure the crucial GDPR privacy features.

🔖 2.1. Enabling the Extension

This is the master switch for the entire extension's functionality.

• Enable Video Widget:
  • Yes: Activates the extension. All video widgets will be functional on the frontend.
  • No: Deactivates the extension globally. Existing widgets will not render on the frontend.

🛡️ 2.2. How to Configure the GDPR Privacy Notice

This section is one of the most important features of the extension, designed to help you comply with data privacy regulations like the GDPR.

Why This Feature is Critical for Compliance

When you embed a video from a third-party service like YouTube or Vimeo, a connection is made to their servers. This process can transmit user data (like their IP address) and place tracking cookies on their device. Under regulations like GDPR, you must inform users and obtain their explicit consent before this data is transmitted. This feature provides the mechanism to do just that. It blocks the video from loading until the user has actively consented, helping you avoid potential legal and financial penalties.

Configuration Fields

• Show YouTube/Vimeo Privacy Notice:

  • Yes: This enables the privacy consent layer. For every YouTube and Vimeo video embedded with the widget, a notice will be displayed over a preview image. The full video will only load after the user clicks to accept.
  • No: Videos will be loaded directly without a privacy notice. This is not recommended if your store serves customers in the EU or other regions with similar privacy laws.

• Privacy Notice (for YouTube/Vimeo):

  • These text fields allow you to customize the message shown to users for each service. Being transparent about what happens when they play a video is a key principle of GDPR.
