Rich Snippets (also known as Rich Results) are standard Google search results that are enhanced with additional, eye-catching information.

Why Rich Snippets Matter for SEO
While Google has stated that using structured data for rich snippets is not a direct ranking factor, the benefits are clear. Rich snippets make your listing more visually appealing and informative, causing it to stand out from the competition on the search results page. This increased visibility often leads to a significantly higher click-through rate (CTR), driving more qualified traffic to your page.
📝 7.2. How to Configure Rich Snippets for Your Videos
The Video Widget makes it incredibly simple to add the necessary structured data. It automatically generates the VideoObject Schema.org markup that search engines need to create rich snippets.
To enable this feature, simply set the Enable Rich Snippets toggle to Yes in the widget configuration. This will reveal the following fields:
- Video Name:
This should be the compelling title of your video. It will often be used as the main headline in the rich snippet. - Video Description:
A brief, engaging summary of the video's content. This text may appear below the title in the search result. - Video Upload Date:
The date the video was originally published. This helps signal freshness to both users and search engines. Must be ISO 8601 format, e. g.2020-01-31T00:00:00+02:00 - Video Duration:
The length/duration of the video. This helps users understand the time commitment. Must be ISO 8601 format. For example,T00H30M5Srepresents a duration of "thirty minutes and five seconds".
The widget automatically includes other required data, such as the Video URL, Thumbnail URL, and Embed URL, so you only need to fill in the descriptive content.
💡 Pro Tip: Testing Your Structured Data After you have published the page with your video, you can and should verify that Google can correctly read your structured data. Use Google's official Rich Results Test tool. Simply enter your page's URL, and the tool will show you if your
VideoObjectdata is valid and eligible for rich results. This is the best way to confirm your setup is working correctly.
