Playback options give you granular control over how your video behaves when a user interacts with it. These settings provided by JaJuMa Video Widget extension for Magento 2 can significantly impact user experience and help you achieve specific marketing goals.

🔍 5.1. Playback Options by Video Source

The available playback settings depend on whether your video is hosted externally (YouTube/Vimeo) or locally on your server. This table clarifies which options are available for each video type.

💬 5.2. Detailed Option Explanations

5.2.1 Universal Options

• Repeat/Loop:
  When enabled, the video will automatically restart from the beginning as soon as it finishes. This is ideal for short, decorative background videos or looping animations.

5.2.2 YouTube & Vimeo Options

• Display Related (YouTube only):
  This is a powerful feature for retaining customers. When enabled, the "related videos" that YouTube suggests after your video finishes will be restricted to other videos from your own YouTube channel. This prevents videos from your competitors from appearing on your product or landing pages.
• Allow Fullscreen:
  Determines whether the fullscreen button is available in the video player controls. Allowing fullscreen provides a more immersive viewing experience for users.
• Start at:
  Allows you to start the video from a specific point in time. Enter the time in seconds (e.g., enter 30 to start the video at the 30-second mark). This is useful for skipping long intros and getting straight to the most important content.

5.2.3 Local Video Options

• Controls:
  Toggles the visibility of the browser's native video player controls (play/pause, volume, timeline scrubber).
• Autoplay:

  ⚠️ Warning: Autoplay Policy & User Experience Use the Autoplay feature with extreme caution. To protect users from intrusive experiences, most modern web browsers (especially on mobile) will block or refuse to autoplay videos that have sound. It can also increase bounce rates and negatively impact user experience. It is almost always better to let the user initiate playback. If you must use autoplay, you should also enable the Muted option.

• Muted:
  Plays the video with the sound turned off by default. This is essential if you plan to use the Autoplay feature.
• Preload:
  Determines how much of the video file is downloaded when the page loads.
  • None: Nothing is preloaded. This saves the most bandwidth but may result in a slight delay when the user clicks play.
  • Metadata: Only basic information (like duration and dimensions) is preloaded. This is often the best compromise between performance and user experience.
  • Auto: The browser may download the entire video file on page load. This provides the fastest start time but consumes significant bandwidth.
• Reset to Poster after play:
  If enabled, the video will return to showing its poster image after it has finished playing. Note that enabling Repeat/Loop will override this setting.
